I hadn't watched Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar in years and barely remembered a thing about it, so I decided to sit down and run it back from the start. Coming out of it, it lands right at a solid 6/10—flawed, but undeniably fun for what it is.

The overarching political conflict and main narrative really didn't do it for me. Whenever the show tried to be a serious kingdom-drama, it dragged. What saved those parts was the production: for an OVA from that era, the animation holds up surprisingly well, especially the mech combat and choreography. Kenshi being an absurdly overpowered protagonist who just gets things done keeps the momentum moving, but the series truly peaks whenever it drops the serious tone and leans entirely into slice-of-life and harem antics. My favorite episode by far was the one where he's just running around doing chores. That cozy, routine comedy mixed with the ecchi nonsense is where the show is at its best.

Character Breakdown

The designs across the board are really cool, though my mileage with the cast varied heavily.

Also, a quick shoutout to the ending credits art. The illustrations during the ED are gorgeous—genuinely top-tier wallpaper material.

Overall, the story and politics are forgettable, but the animation, over-the-top OP protagonist, and laid-back harem chores make it an easy, nostalgic watch.

I love me a bold character!

Labyrinth of Flames had been sitting on my hard drive for a while. I was on a binge of older anime, decided to finally fire it up with zero expectations, and honestly, it caught me off guard in a good way. It ended up being way more fun than I thought it would be.

The art and animation are decent enough for the era—nothing groundbreaking, but it gets the job done. Where it actually won me over was the comedy. It keeps things lighthearted and surprisingly mild on the ecchi front compared to what you usually expect from early-2000s OVAs. Erola Suppaatoka easily stole the show for me; her randomly breaking into dances in the middle of scenes was hilarious. On top of that, the character designs across the board are great, and everyone looks genuinely good.

The main issue is simply that it's over before it really starts. At just two episodes, there's no room to build out the world or let the premise breathe. The setup had a lot of comedic potential, but it leaves you feeling like you watched a proof-of-concept rather than a full story. Add in the dad, who was weirdly uncomfortable to watch, and it keeps the show from reaching anything higher.

Still, for an impulse watch with zero expectations, it was an entertaining distraction.

Saw this game on Instagram, downloaded the beta from Patreon. Couldn't take it anymore; it was kinda cute at the start, but it is very buggy. It is just a build-a-bed simulator, no dialogue. Very laggy, even on a good PC. The tracking sucks, and the children stop following you after a while.

Very tedious, not fun. There is no reward for progressing in the game; it's just constant repetition. For an indie showcase, it's fine, but overall I would not recommend this.

What I Liked:

• Cute at the start.
• Some cute animation.

What I Disliked:

• No dialogue.
• Very buggy.
• The characters can stop following you, even though they should be following (most likely due to poor terrain, but I can't ask for landscaping so much; it's tedious).
• There is no reward for surviving the day.
• It is just an endless chore simulator until you die.

You can experience what this game has to offer so far by playing it for, like, 10 minutes; it has very little to offer.

• I have a major hatred for Yuuki. This shit has been dragging on between these two for far too long, and I am tired of seeing it at this point. One of the most boring characters of all time.
• Mariabell was an interesting character who was killed off way too easily. Especially to fucking Yuuki of all people.

I did not enjoy this season whatsoever. I was excited for it because I previously watched slime a few times, and I did enjoy it. But it is starting to get stale; that being said, if they kill off some of these characters, my enjoyment would automatically go up.

What I Liked:

• The animation is insane.
• The cast of characters is very diverse, with many likeable characters.
• Love the dark humour.
• Incredible fights and visuals.
• Lots of gore.

What I Disliked:

• A bit slow at the start; the only thing that kept me watching was the animation.

I personally thought that towards the end, this picked up a lot more. With the introduction of other characters, my rating for this show increased. And the story started to get more intense. By the time I was finished, I wanted more.

Thankfully, season 2 has already been announced!

AURA FARMING

This is an anime where the main character aura farms, and the author portrays this very well.

What I Liked:

• Aura farming.
• Cool MC.
• Other cool characters.
• Insane art.
• Great fights.

I can't think of anything I disliked. That being said, I can see why people might dislike it. It is just slop, the sloppiest of slops, BUT I LOVE ME SOME SLOP. Aura leveling is not an anime for everyone, but it is for me.

This show/series had potential, but it's very lacking.

What I Liked:

• The initial concept and main character.
• The opening is good.
• The art was good.

What I Disliked:

• The world does not feel fleshed out (hard to do when the original manga is only 28 chapters)
• All the characters are boring. One example is Shiba. He reminds me of characters like Kakashi or Gojo, but lacks in every single department.
• The story is very rushed, and nothing feels weighty. Nothing is really on the line, and the series just moves way too quickly. It feels like I'm playing a visual novel and holding CTRL to skip all the dialogue.

Watching this was a waste of time. I saw what series were recommended alongside this, and it was shows like Jujutsu Kaisen and Bleach, so I had high expectations. This didn't even meet minimum expectations.

A new baddie has approached. This show doesn't seem that interesting; it's pretty bland. Has salt and pepper, but no paprika.

So far, I don't think I like any character other than the cat and the main character. They are pretty annoying and not funny.
